Finding Your Way

A four-week course of small, practical actions to help you feel better in everyday life.

Finding Your Way is designed for when you feel overwhelmed, low, stuck or disconnected from everyday life. You may have felt this way for a while and know you want something to change, but not know where to start. Over four weeks, you’ll try small, manageable actions and take time to notice what makes a difference for you.

How Finding Your Way works

Each week begins with a short newsletter introducing a different area of everyday life. Over the following six days, you’ll receive one short email each day with something practical to try.

Each email also includes questions to help you reflect on what you noticed, what helped and what you found difficult. There are no right answers. The aim is to help you discover what works for you.

The emails arrive daily, but there’s no need to keep up. You can pause, repeat an action or take longer whenever you need to.

What you’ll explore over four weeks

Week 1: Creating space for your attention
Explore how your phone affects your attention and try small changes that create more space for the people and experiences around you.

Week 2: Responding to worry
Explore different kinds of worry and practise ways to decide when you can take action and when it may help to step back.

Week 3: Connecting with your world
Explore how walking, getting outside and paying attention to your surroundings can change how you experience and connect with the world around you.

Week 4: Exploring how you eat
Explore your relationship with food through small changes that bring more attention, enjoyment and intention to how you eat and prepare food.

Why small actions?

When you’ve felt stuck for a while, making changes can feel difficult. Finding Your Way starts with actions that are deliberately small and manageable, then gradually builds from there.

The activities are simple, but they have been selected and sequenced to help you pay attention to different parts of everyday life, try different ways of responding and notice what has an effect on how you feel.

You don’t need every action to work for you. What matters is discovering which ones make a difference and which you might want to carry forward.

Informed by psychology, designed for everyday life

Finding Your Way is informed by established therapeutic approaches and behaviour-change principles, translated into practical actions you can try for yourself in everyday life.

It isn’t therapy, and it doesn’t try to tell you how you should feel or what should work for you. Instead, it gives you opportunities to try different approaches, reflect on your experience and build a clearer picture of what helps you.
